Former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Alphonsus Ogar Eba, has pledged unwavering loyalty to former Governor, Senator Prof. Ben Ayade, declaring he will stand by him for life.

In an Easter message and open letter to political stalwart and social media influencer, Ogar Emmanuel Oko, Eba said Ayade “made him what he is today,” noting that he has benefited immensely from the former governor’s goodwill.

“I pray that God Almighty will never allow the day I will choose to work against H.E. Sen. Prof. Ayade to exist,” he said.

Eba acknowledged that some beneficiaries of Ayade’s political structure have since parted ways with him, stressing that democracy guarantees freedom of choice. He, however, warned that ingratitude often carries consequences.

“Those who benefited and choose to work against him today are free to do so, but they must bear the consequences of their actions,” he added.

Describing Ayade as his political godfather, Eba maintained that the former governor uplifted many in the state, arguing that such beneficiaries owe him lasting gratitude.

He recalled that his 10-year stint as Director-General of Due Process and his emergence as APC state chairman were made possible through Ayade’s support.

“How else can I repay him for his goodness if not to stand by him?” he queried.

On speculations surrounding Ayade’s possible return to the Senate, Eba noted that while Governor Bassey Otu is widely seen as influential in determining political outcomes in the state, his personal loyalty remains firmly with Ayade.

“For me and my biological and political family, it is Ayade now and always,” he declared.
