Deputy Gov Calls For Continued Support For Otu, Tinubu At e-registration

By Owai Obo
The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, PhD, has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming his unwavering loyalty to the party and its progressive ideals.
Speaking during the APC e-registration and revalidation exercise held in his office at the Government House, Calabar, on Thursday, Odey charged party members, supporters, and the people of Cross River State to close ranks and intensify their support for Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that the APC remains the only credible platform capable of delivering sustained development, economic stability, and inclusive governance at both state and national levels.
He described the Otu-led administration in Cross River State and the Tinubu-led Federal Government as focused, people-centred, and reform-driven, noting that the dividends of democracy are gradually taking root across communities. According to him, the task before party faithful is to protect, defend, and consolidate these gains through unity, discipline, and effective grassroots mobilisation.
Odey further described the APC as a strong, progressive political movement with the capacity to reposition Cross River State and Nigeria for long-term growth, urging stakeholders at all levels to work collectively in strengthening party structures ahead of future political engagements.
Commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC for the introduction of the e-registration system, the Deputy Governor said the initiative would sanitize the party, deepen internal democracy, and ensure that only genuine and committed members drive the party’s affairs. He noted that the integration of National Identification Numbers (NIN), Voter Cards, and APC membership cards into the process would enhance credibility, transparency, and accountability.
He therefore called on APC members and supporters across the state to fully embrace the exercise, describing it as a strategic step toward building a stronger, data-driven, and election-ready party structure, while encouraging them to obtain digital certification as verified members of the APC.
The high point of the brief ceremony was the presentation of the temporary membership slip to the Deputy Governor by the leader of the registration team and State Organizing Secretary of the APC, Mr. Joseph Ishaje.
