A renewed atmosphere of peace and unity has emerged within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State, following a stakeholders’ dialogue aimed at resolving differences within the party.
The dialogue, held at Ibogo, Biase LGA, was attended by party leaders, stakeholders and supporters, including the National Population Commission (NPC) Federal Commissioner representing Cross River State, Bishop Alex Ukam.
Ukam commended the stakeholders for their turnout and willingness to work together, describing the renewed unity as important to strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said the engagement was consistent with Governor Bassey Otu’s efforts to reconcile members following differences that arose from the party’s primaries and to rebuild a united APC across the state.
The NPC commissioner urged party leaders and members to sustain consultation, mutual respect and dialogue, stressing that differences should be resolved promptly in the interest of the party and the people.
He said the meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to deliberate on issues affecting the growth of the APC in Biase, while promoting inclusiveness, grassroots mobilisation and a stronger party structure.
According to him, the stakeholders’ commitment to reconciliation has reaffirmed their determination to build a more united and formidable APC in the local government ahead of the elections.
Ukam also appealed to APC members in Biase to maintain the same spirit of unity when the state leadership of the party visits the local government in the coming days.
