Nigerian vegan advocate Joy Mong, founder of  Vegan Journey Advocacy has launched the fourth cohort of the 14- day Effective Vegan Transition Challenge.

It is an initiative aimed at helping more Africans adopt a healthier, compassionate and environmentally sustainable plant-based lifestyle.

The challenge, which begins on Monday, July 27, 2026, offers participants practical guidance, structured mentorship and daily support to enable a smooth transition from a meat-based diet to vegan living.

Speaking on the initiative, the organisers said participants would be equipped with real-life tools and knowledge needed to successfully embrace and sustain a vegan lifestyle beyond the two-week programme.

They disclosed that the programme forms part of a broader vision to organise at least 10 cohorts of the intensive training annually, with the objective of increasing awareness of veganism and encouraging healthier dietary choices across Nigeria.

The initiative received a boost from renowned Ghanaian musician and vegan advocate Okyeame Kwame, who commended Joy Mong for championing the campaign and urged Africans to embrace plant-based diets as a way of reducing the risk of many lifestyle-related diseases.

He also called on people to show greater compassion towards animals, stressing the need to discourage cruelty and promote ethical treatment of living creatures.

Joy Mong, who has spearheaded vegan awareness campaigns in several countries, is widely known for promoting vegetarianism and veganism through education and advocacy. Her campaign seeks to highlight the health, environmental and ethical benefits of plant-based living while supporting individuals willing to make the transition.

She encouraged interested Nigerians to register for the fourth cohort and become part of a growing movement promoting healthier lifestyles, environmental sustainability and compassion towards animals.
