The Zazzau Emirate Council has cautioned women dignitaries in Kaduna State against bearing unapproved titles.
In a statement, signed and issued by Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, Media and Publicity Officer of the emirate, approval must be obtained from the Emirate by those that intend to confer any titles on women.
The statement stressed that the council will henceforth not condone such act.
“By this notice, the Emirate wishes to call on women parading with titles bearing the name of Zazzau Emirate to henceforth stop doing so.” It cautioned.
The Zazzau emirate frowned at the unofficial use of traditional titles associated with the name of the emirate.
They disclosed that the only title they recognized is Jagqban Matan Zazzau, and only  Hajiya Maryam Abdullahi Aliyu was turbaned as such by the Late Emir Alhaji Shehu Idris, according to the statement.
