Two suspected kidnappers have been arrested in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, with N8 million ransom allegedly collected from a victim’s family recovered from them.
Joint security operatives also rescued an abducted woman from a forest hideout during separate operations in the area.
Media aide to the LGA Chairman, Danaan Cletus, confirmed the development, identifying the suspects as Waltu Watter and Sale Mamma.
The suspects were alleged to have killed Alhaji Saidu Mamma during an attack and abducted his daughter, whose family later paid N8 million ransom.
A coordinated security operation led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the cash.

Speaking while parading the suspects, the Council Chairman, Hon. Dr. Christopher Audu Manship, declared zero tolerance for criminal activities in the council area.
“We will not allow criminals to operate in Qua’an Pan or use this LGA as a hideout after committing crimes in neighbouring areas,” he said.
Manship commended security agencies for their professionalism and directed that the recovered N8 million be returned to the family of the late Alhaji Saidu Mamma.
In another operation, security operatives rescued Mrs. Gambo Bello, who was abducted in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State and taken to Pandam Game Reserve in Qua’an Pan.
Her rescue followed intelligence reports on suspicious movements in the forest, prompting the chairman to order a security sweep of the area.
Manship also appreciated Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for supporting efforts to strengthen security across the locality.
