The Cross River State Government, in partnership with Leadership Resource Managers (LRM), has sponsored a three-day capacity-building programme for vice chairmen and secretaries of the 18 local government areas to strengthen leadership and improve service delivery at the grassroots.
The seminar, held in Abuja, was themed: “Exclusive 3-Day Capacity Building Seminar for Vice Chairmen and Secretaries on Result-Oriented and Productive Service Delivery in Local Government Administration in Nigeria.”
The programme focused on enhancing leadership capacity, administrative efficiency, accountability and result-driven governance, with participants receiving practical training on policy implementation, effective representation, grassroots development, accountability mechanisms and innovative approaches to people-centred service delivery.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, the Vice Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Hon. Ekuma Ngwu, JP, lauded Governor Bassey Otu for prioritising capacity development for local government officials, describing the initiative as a strategic investment in effective grassroots administration.
Ngwu said the seminar had broadened their leadership perspective and equipped them with contemporary knowledge and practical skills required to improve governance and public service delivery in their respective councils.
He described the training as timely, impactful and enriching, expressing confidence that the lessons learnt would translate into more efficient administration and better outcomes for communities across the state.
The Biase vice chairman also commended Leadership Resource Managers for organising the seminar, noting that it provided a valuable platform for collaboration, peer learning and the exchange of ideas among local government administrators.
