The Paramount Ruler and Grand Patriarch of the Efut Kingdom, Prof. Itam Hogan Itam, has credited the drop in crimes in Calabar South Local Government Area to the influence of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, the spiritual leader of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, BCS.
The royal father, also known as Muri Munene, made the assertion when a delegation from the spiritual leader paid a courtesy visit to his palace few days ago.
He described the impact of the leader of the spiritual organization as transformative, noting that peace and order have improved significantly across the area and beyond.
Prof. Itam praised Obu as a true Son of Efut land, commending his sustained goodwill and spiritual influence on the people.

He said the kingdom stands ready to reciprocate the gesture as the spiritual leader marks 25 years since his physical coronation as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
The monarch expressed optimism that the visit would herald the end of his personal challenges and called for continued prayers and blessings for the Efut people.
The Administrator of the organization in the state, Victor Owalum, reaffirmed the group’s strong ties with the palace and expressed confidence in sustained peace.
He also invited the Efut Traditional Council to the Silver Jubilee grand finale scheduled for Sunday April 19, 2026, at U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
