The new Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, CP Ajo Ordue has warned that misconduct, extortion, harassment, assault and other forms of unprofessional conduct would not be tolerated any further in the state.
He also stressed that commanders would be held accountable for effective supervision and the conduct of personnel under their respective commands.
He spoke when he paid an unscheduled visit to Akim Police Division and five other formations, where he inspected facilities, interacted with officers men, and assessed operational activities and security realities within the respective areas of responsibility.
CP Ordue assured that the impromptu supervisory visits would continue across the Command to strengthen oversight, identify operational challenges firsthand, enhance personnel welfare and improve service delivery.
The Commissioner reiterated his determination to lead from the field and build a professional, responsive and community-oriented Cross River State Police Command.
Ordue interjected: “You cannot supervise what you have not seen, and you cannot correct what you do not know is happening.”
He charged Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Formations to maintain effective supervision, discipline, professionalism and accountability.
