The spiritual leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Olumba Olumba Obu, has called for stronger collaboration among stakeholders to promote peace, unity and reconciliation in Cameroon.
His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu emphasised the values of love, forgiveness and brotherhood, urging Cameroonians to embrace peaceful coexistence and shun all forms of conflict.
He made the call during a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Douala III, Valentin Epoupa Bossambo, on Monday.
The spiritual leader was represented by The Patriarch, Innocent Omini, who is leading a global sensitisation tour under the Universal Monarch Movement.
The tour precedes the silver jubilee celebration of Obu’s coronation as King of kings and Lord of lords, scheduled to hold in Calabar from April 13 to 19, 2026.

Obu, through his representative, extended a hand of partnership to the Cameroonian government, advocating joint efforts to strengthen national cohesion and spiritual development.
He highlighted the presence of the Brotherhood in Cameroon, noting that the organisation operates three established bethels across the country, with a membership exceeding 15,000.
According to him, the group’s expanding footprint and commitment to promoting harmony have contributed significantly to peace-building efforts.
Delivering Obu’s message, Omini also offered prayers and blessings to the mayor and the people of Douala, urging the city’s leadership to govern with love, fairness and justice.
He stressed that such virtues remain critical to achieving sustainable peace and development.

Responding, Mayor Bossambo commended the teachings in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, particularly the emphasis on universal love and unity, noting that the message aligns with his personal Christian beliefs and leadership philosophy.
“As a child of God, I am committed to leading by example,” the mayor said, while pledging continued support and cooperation with the Brotherhood.
The visit attracted attention from religious and community stakeholders, underscoring the growing role of spiritual leadership in complementing governance efforts toward fostering unity and peace in Cameroon.
