Fubara Swears In Five New Commissioners

Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has sworn in five new commissioners following their confirmation by the State House of Assembly.
The nominees were screened and cleared by the Assembly on Monday before their inauguration into the Rivers State Executive Council.
Speaking during the ceremony, the governor charged the new commissioners to give their best in the service of the state, stressing that the administration expects nothing short of dedication and effective performance.
Fubara noted that the rigorous screening exercise conducted by the lawmakers had already tested the competence and readiness of the appointees to serve.
“I believe that going through one of the most rigorous screening exercises is enough to show that those of you who succeeded are fit and ready to deliver for our dear state,” he said.
According to the governor, the screening process itself had clearly outlined the duties and responsibilities expected of them in office.
“So there is no further charge. The screening was the charge. I wish you the best, and I expect nothing less than your best,” he added.
Those sworn in as commissioners are Mr Tonye Bellgam, Prof. Temple Nwofor, Dr Peters Nwagor, Mr Lekue Kenneth and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.
The Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office were administered by the Chief Registrar of the High Court of Rivers State, David D. Ihua-Maduenyi.
