The North Central chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

The endorsement was announced at the party’s zonal congress held in Lafia, where new zonal executives also emerged through consensus.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, who moved the motion, commended leaders from the zone for their contributions to governance and national cohesion.

He charged party members to begin early mobilisation, urging them to work vigorously to secure overwhelming votes for the APC in the next general election.

The motion was seconded by Abdullahi Sule, who lauded the Tinubu administration’s leadership style and the conduct of party congresses nationwide.

National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yiltwada, described the North Central as a “steadfast fortress” of the party, praising its alignment with the Renewed Hope agenda.

Represented by Deputy National Secretary, Abdulkarim Kana, he urged party officials to sustain unity and deepen grassroots engagement ahead of 2027.

Delegates from Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau and the Federal Capital Territory also re-elected Mu’azu Mohammed Bawa Rijau as Zonal Vice Chairman through consensus.

In his acceptance speech, Rijau expressed gratitude for the renewed mandate, pledging to strengthen party cohesion and deliver on the zone’s political objectives.
