The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) says it baptised more than 6,000 new converts between May and July 2026.
The spiritual leader of the organisation, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, disclosed this during the farewell service marking the end of the month-long Pentecostal Convention at the BCS World Headquarters in Calabar.
He said the baptismal figures were contained in reports submitted by the organisation’s 27 international Fellowships and nine priestly arms, the structures which make up the organization, during their meetings with him throughout the convention, which climaxed on August 29.
He commended the leadership of the evangelical groups within the organization for their efforts in spreading the message of the Holy Spirit and urged them to sustain the campaign.
The spiritual leader also called on members to nurture the new converts with the word of God to prevent them from returning to their former sinful lifestyles.
Obu described BCS as more than a conventional church, saying it is the long-prophesied eternal Kingdom of God, where righteousness is expected to prevail.
He announced that the organisation would mark its Platinum Jubilee next year, describing the planned celebration as an epochal event dedicated to thanksgiving.
The spiritual leader, however, disclosed that a special pilgrimage by members to Biakpan in Biase Local Government Area, the birthplace of BCS Founder, Great Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, had been rescheduled for February 2027.
He said the pilgrimage would serve as a prelude to the Platinum Jubilee celebration.
Officials of the organisation put its estimated membership at more than three million, with worship centres spread across several continents.
