The electorate in Cross River State have been told that the more votes given to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in next year’s presidential election from the state will translate into more negotiating power for the state.

As a result, all ruling party, APC, officials in the state have been called upon to return to their polling units and wards to do grassroot mobilisation for both Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu against next year’s general election.

Director-General of Cross River State Political Network, (CRISPON), Dr. Michael Nku Abuo made the call weekend, during an endorsement rally for APC candidates in the Northern Senatorial District held in Ogoja local government area in Cross River.

“As we go back to our respective polling units, wards and respective local governments, let us not allow any voter’s card, any voter slip to be returned. We must use all the ballot papers.

“The more votes we give, the more negotiating power we have at the centre,” Abuo said.

Addressing supporters, Abuo said the group’s decision to Mobilise votes for Tinubu and Otu was based on their individual achievements in the last three years.

Abuo however appealed to Gov Otu for a swift intervention in the Ukelle and Boki connecting roads.

He also called on the governor to address the electricity challenge in Bekwarra, establish a College of Medical Sciences in Yala LGA, and expand facilities at the University of Cross River State, Okuku campus, School of Nursing and College of Health Technology.

The group further called on the Federal Government to support the state to reclaim its oil wells.
