The Director-General of Neighbour2Neighbour Network, Dr Bobby Ekpenyong, has predicted victory for Governor Bassey Edet Otu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election in Cross River State.
The group downplayed the media reports about the surging popularity of the leading opposition party, PDP, in the state, saying their candidate does not have grassroots appeal like the governor.
Ekpenyong said his assessment was based on interactions with residents during visits to communities across the state.
He claimed that the feedback he received indicated widespread support for the Otu administration and its bid for a second term.
“I have gone round every local government in the state. I have gone round with my team, known as Neighbour2Neighbour Network.
“We have interfaced with the people; we’ve heard what people are saying,” he said.
According to him, some residents expressed strong confidence in Otu’s return to office, with one person allegedly saying only the “second coming of Christ” could prevent the governor from winning the 2027 election.

Ekpenyong attributed the support to what he described as the administration’s performance in areas including security, infrastructure, agriculture, investment and workers’ welfare.
He also predicted that the APC would win other elective positions in the state, including the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats.
“I have looked round. I don’t see where any other party will win. I’ve not seen any position any other party will win,” he said.
Ekpenyong added that the APC would win the presidential, senatorial, House of Representatives, governorship and State Assembly elections in the state.
“We will win. APC will take Cross River State. We will win in the Presidential, Senate, House of Reps, Governorship, House of Assembly; 5 over 5,” he said.
