Operatives of the Cross River State Police Command’s Vehicle Crime Response Unit (VCRU) have arrested four suspected members of a six-man gang allegedly involved in the burglary of Royaline Technologies in Calabar, with stolen property valued at ₦49.15 million.
The suspects were identified as Hassan Ahmad, 38; Jabiru Ibrahim, 35; Usman Isa Garuba, 22; and Abdullalim Hassan, 23.
Police said the suspects allegedly broke into the company located at 49 Ettagbor Road, Calabar, on June 3, 2026, and made away with 62 mobile phones of various models, accessories, speakers, earphones and cash.
The value of the stolen items was estimated at ₦49,150,715, including ₦529,000 in cash, according to preliminary police investigations.
One of the suspects, Jabiru Ibrahim, was traced to Kano State, where VCRU operatives arrested him on September 2 before bringing him to Calabar the following day.
The police said investigations had so far led to the arrest of four suspects, while efforts were continuing to apprehend the remaining two members of the alleged gang.
The Command also said it was working to recover the stolen phones, accessories and other items allegedly taken during the operation.
The investigation is expected to establish how the suspects allegedly carried out the burglary and the whereabouts of the stolen property.
Police said the suspects would be prosecuted if investigations establish their culpability.
