Hundreds of worshippers from Cross River State are set to travel to Delta State for the inauguration ceremony of the Christ Gospel Church of Nigeria.
The event is scheduled for the second week of April 2026 at Glory Land Hall, Orerokpe, in Okpe Local Government Area.
The National President of the church, Rev. Dr. Abraham Ohwotuemuho (Esq.), confirmed the development during a telephone interview, noting that preparations for the ceremony have been concluded.
He said the inauguration is expected to draw a large turnout of faithful, church leaders and dignitaries from across the country.
Among top clerics billed to attend is the National Vice President (South-South) of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Archbishop Dr. Emmah Gospel Isong.
The ceremony will also feature eminent Pentecostal leader, His Eminence Papa Ayo Oritsejafor (OFR), who is expected to serve as the inauguration officer.
Also expected is the Chairman of PFN, Delta State Chapter, Bishop Abos Willie, alongside other prominent ministers, industry leaders and public officials.
The Inauguration Committee Chairman, Rev. Dr. Ime Johnson (JP), said the church is fully prepared to host what he described as a landmark event.
Speaking on behalf of members, he expressed appreciation to church leaders for their steadfast support and commitment to the growth of the Pentecostal movement.
“We appreciate the unquenchable zeal of our fathers of faith in keeping the Pentecostal fire burning despite the security challenges facing the nation,” he said.
Johnson urged Christians to remain steadfast in prayer for the country, citing 1 Thessalonians 5:17, which enjoins believers to “pray without ceasing.”
Dignitaries expected at the event include Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; member representing Okpe Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief James Augoye; and Chairman of Okpe Local Government Area, Chief Isaiah Esiovwa.
Organisers say the inauguration will serve as both a spiritual gathering and a platform to strengthen unity within the church across Nigeria.
